Keeping Your Data Private

Today’s post is about a free portable application that lets you write encrypted notes onto your flash drive. The application is called Steganos Locknote and it can be found here: http://locknote.steganos.com/.

This application is really handy and easy to use! Its size is 296KB plus your data’s size. Each “document” you make (say one for your passwords, another for private notes, etc) is an executable file that’s encrypted and locked by a password.

  1. You do not need such software since Spynote. Simply go to http://www.spynote.com – it is free, safe and secure. And you do not need to carry anything on a flash drive at all 🙂

  2. I’m never fully trustful of someone else’s site to keep truly private data. I do love Locknote, expecially since the executable and the data are together–the encryption mechanism cannot be separated (and lost) from the data. And it is as easy to use as is listed here. I’ve used it for over a year now, and have never had a failure.
